The short answer is: No. Revest does not place limits on individual file sizes. Furthermore, we don’t throttle upload speeds, no matter how much data you have backed up. You can upload/download as much data as your plan allows you to.

However, when you upload/download your data directly to/from your account via a web browser, you should not exceed the limit per request as explained in the table below.

Although Revest does not limit the size of your backup, there can be technical limitations to the amount of data that can be backed up from a particular computer. Additionally, some files are excluded from your backup by default because they can cause problems in the backup. Here are somthings you need to consider:

1. Memory Usage

Revest is a real-time backup solution that monitors the files on your system to detect and back up changes. Consequently, the amount of available memory needed to use the Revest software increases with the increase of your backup size. Revest do this automatically, so there is no settings the user needs to change.

2. Backup Speed

The time required to complete the backup depends on the upload speed of your Internet connection. If you have a very fast Internet connection, it’s unlikely that your upload to Revest will saturate your upload bandwidth. However, you can throttle the upload of Revest if you prefer.

3. Large Open Files

Although they are not restricted from your backup selection, the nature of large, open, constantly changing files (for example, Outlook PST files) can make it difficult to back them up successfully. For tips on backing up open files, please check this article.

4. Files Excluded From Backup

Revest has built-in “Auto-Exclude” list that prevents certain files and folders from being backed up. These include temporary files and certain system files that can cause problems with backup progress and that are not advantageous to restore.
